Caribbean between London and Oxford. Island Bar.

Blue Curaçao
The inhabitants of Reading in southern England can really save their dream vacation to the south seas. On a tiny island in the middle of the Thames, Reading's new bar shines in a caribbean blue that makes one look foreward to a cool cocktail even from afar.
Omer Yucel wanted to bring the feeling of the caribbean to the sun-shy town of Reading, situated between London and Oxford, with his 'Island Bar'. That is exactly what he has achieved.
The bright, open and modern architecture of this fantastic building is brought to the fore with blue Chloe LED luminaires. One is guided over a pedestrian bridge from one side of the river with blue LED's to reach the Deck, which has more than 300 of these robust, miniature fixtures.
One reaches the tasteful, angularly designed inner area via glass doors that can be opened to all sides of the building. The bar area is dominated by glass shelves equipped with colour-chase LED's, creating a really special atmosphere. The colour chases only occur within the blue spectrum in order not to disturb the harmony of the concept as a whole.
During nocturnal hours the light is reflected by the river and the island shimmers as if the guests were waving. It does not even need a strong drink to imagine that one has been transported from this small island on the Thames all the way to the Curaçao Islands.
