TRILUX - the history.

The first years. 1912-1961.

In 1912 the company was formed by Wilhelm Lenze in Menden, Sauerland taking the name of our founder Wilhelm Lenze. From the outset the company specialised in the manufacture of technical luminaires and accessories. In 1934, after reaching the limit of capacity in Menden the company relocated to Neheim-Hüsten, today´s location. At the end of the 2nd-World-War the company was completely destroyed by bombs and fire, but after all that it was rebuilt by a few employees to start operations again. At that time technical interior and exterior luminaires were developed and produced and the first subsidiaries in Europe were founded. Since 1961 the company operated under the name of TRILUX-LENZE - threefold light.

The development of the Medical Technology until today.

The Lighting Division together with the Medical Technology Division of TRILUX, progressed the company to a new level. In 1963 medical supply systems for room and reading light with ability to retrofit the electrical installation were added to the portfolio. In consequence of the further development in the hospitals the medical care for patients required the provision of medical gases at the bed space as a necessity. This became a challenge and incentive for TRILUX and suitably equipped supply systems for bedrooms in hospitals were developed. The TRILUX units provided the illumination, low voltage and extra low voltage plus the medical gas systems. For the first-time the TRILUX Systems with full integration of lighting, power, nurse call and medical gases in one unit showcased itself (at that time together with the company Zettler) on a trade exhibition for hospital equipment in Dortmund in 1965. This System, developed by TRILUX, was created for the increased needs in hygiene and clinical treatment, which is easy to maintain, over the course of the time. Today such Systems are a standard worldwide, for illumination and services installation in bedrooms of health care facilities.
